Parenting 101

On Saturday Nickelle went up to Dallin and asked if she could have a cookie. Dallin said no. Then Nickelle comes up to me and asks "Mom, can I have a cookie?" I of course said no. Dallin and I and the kids were upstairs cleaning. Dallin notices Nickelle is not upstairs and calls to her. She comes upstairs and Dallin asks her what she was doing. She very nonchalantly responds "just eating a cookie". Being the good Dad that Dallin is he gives her a consequence, which was making her put her nose in the corner. She kept getting in trouble for getting off the wall so he put her in her room for a time out. After a few minutes he goes in to talk to Nickelle. He tells her why she is in trouble and asks her "Nickelle, who do you need to say sorry to?" she responds while crying "the cookie". Yep we really get through to our kids.

Ha, ha... she is the best!

At least your child doesn't tell you how many times you have to tell them to do something for it to happen (Mom: "How many times did I tell you not to do that?" MY child: "Ummm... like 4 or 5 times..." --ha, ha)

Good times!

I love Nickelle stories. My mom actually e-mailed me this story from work when Dallin told her because they know how much I love hearing them. She is so much fun.
