My Mom's new horse Char

When my Mom was younger she really wanted a horse. She spoke with my Grandparents and my Grandpa told her that if she worked hard and earned the money for a horse she could get one. She sold cherries and worked hard to get her first horse. She learned how to take care of the horse and how to ride. She rides in the English style and she even did some competing. She grew up riding her horse all over the bountiful mountains and her favorite spot to ride is where the temple now stands. My Mom has always loved horses and when my parents got married my Dad always wanted to be able to get one for my Mom. When we were young one year for Christmas we got a horse. She was beautiful but really young and temperamental. She was too difficult for us kids to ride and my Mom was not able to work enough with her to help with that. We ended up needing to sell her.
My Mom has still always wanted a horse and every year my Dad takes her to the Arabian horse show in Boise. She has the best week of her life and comes home every year thinking about how much she misses having and working with horses. Well this year they came home and decided it was the right time to look into it. So they found this beautiful Arabian. Her name is Chardonnay but we will lovingly call her Char. She comes from excellent lines. In fact her granddad was my Mom's favorite show horse growing up. She even had a picture of him on her wall. She is 4 and has a great personality. She is a gorgeous arabian and I am so happy for my Mom. The kids are so excited and they ask multiple times a day to see pictures of Grandma's horse. They are so excited to see her in a couple weeks. I love seeing the pictures of my Mom riding and it is wonderful to see her be able to have a horse again. I know she will love working with her and it will be interesting to see what kinds of things Char will do.
