First Day of School

Nickelle posing with her backpack. Gotta love it!
Our handsome boy. He was really excited and loved all the fun stuff he had to take with him in his backpack. He had to wake up at 6 am this morning so we could leave here by 7:20. I had to drive him today but the bus will bring him home and then he will ride the bus home everyday. When we got to his classroom, he just wanted me to go and decided he was too big to give me a goodbye hug, he was ready to play. He seemed really nervous before but when we got there he was just fine. I really miss him already and can't wait to see him soon. I did tear up a little as I drove away thinking of how big a year this is for him and how hard he was going to work. I teared up even more when I picked Nickelle up from school and I saw all her cute pictures and stuff and I thought to myself how Porter would not get to do much of that, he is doing really hard stuff, he has to be pushed and to be frank made a little miserable. Sometimes I wish he could just be a kid, but I know we are doing the best for him and I am so proud of him. This is going to be a big year for him and I am so proud of my big kid!
Nickelle looked so cute. They both had picked out what they wanted to wear before and they both looked adorable. She had a wonderful time. She went right in and starting to put stickers on her little spot dog. She worked hard and had so much to tell me about school. I asked if she met any friends today and she said the girl didn't like her because Nickelle tried to use her scissors, I explained she should not take her scissors away and then the girl would like her. She seemed happy about that. I cannot believe my little girl is in preschool. I teared up again when I dropped her off. I cannot believe how fast it has gone and how big she is. This will also be a big year for her. She is going to learn a lot and will make some new friends. I could not be more happy for her. I love my kiddos.

They look so cute - I can't believe how big they are. Congrats on your new niece Emma.

Hang in there, Season! You are giving Porter a great gift. It is hard to push our kiddos like Porter & Lorien, but I guess that's the meaning of "tough love". I think it must be how our Heavenly Father watches us struggle through this life.
