My baby is Four!

I cannot believe that Porter is four today! I actually cried today. I am pretty pathetic I know. Anyways one of the greatest things about Porter is that he is truly the funniest kid. I have beyond hundreds of pictures of this kid doing hilarious things. That is why I have so many. I could not decide. He has always loved life and is happy to do HIS THING! This top picture actually made me miss the trailer. We had so many good times. But here is a great one of Porter doing dishes.
This was actually at his first Spendlove reunion. I am proud to say my boy is secure in his manhood.
Him in his blessing outfit. Dallin gave him a really special blessing.
My men being men. Porter has always loved to wear things on his head. He went through a stage where the hat had to be backwards.
Gotta love the cheese face.
I am sorry but I think this is the cutest picture of him.
Surrounded by his favorite toys. Can you say Happy Baby!
I had been coloring pictures for Primary (yes I was chorister then too).  I left the room to tell Dallin something and found Porter having the time of his life. My favorite though is his teeth.
This was him just hours after he was born. His face was so swollen and the band-aids were from the oxygen mask. Immediately there was something so strong about Porter. From the get go he has fought odds and always come out on top. He is one amazing dude!
This was just last week. He was doing one of his favorite things- teasing Nickelle and then jumping on the chair to laugh. That poor chair is falling apart because of the abuse it has taken from Porter. I love his face here. It is really hard for us to get him to smile and look at the camera and so when I capture a true smile of his I really treasure it. This face is what he looks like at his happiest.
He woke up from a nap and looked like this. Gotta love it!
Porter went through a stage where he wore this all the time and then carried around some big spoons like they were weapons. He then would run through the house like a super hero or else hit his helmet with the spoons. We had a lot of good laughs with him in this get up.
Porter as Calvin. They resemble each other in more than one way trust me.

All jokes aside. The other night I was thinking about Porter and the last four years and I was remembering a night in the hospital where he was really sick and had not really moved or anything that day. I was alone with him. But it was time for me to leave the nurses had to change shifts and they were kicking me out, plus it was bed-time. I was so scared to leave him. He didn't look very well and as his mother I was terrified to leave. At that moment I was given one of the most tender and spiritual moments from my heavenly father. It is something I feel is too personal to share but I will share this. I knew that there were spirits with my son, they were with him that night. I knew he was not alone and I knew I could leave. I have felt those same spirits many times with my son. I have felt them lift me when I was so beat up and so burdened with worry. Porter has brought into our lives so much happiness, fun, laughter, and joy. He keeps us centered on the gospel and focused on eternity. He keeps us selfless, and kind. He teaches us patience and love that you can only dream about. He is a beacon of light. All who know him cannot help but fall in love with him. Even as a baby I was constantly told how special he was. That there was something about him. I think Porter has a spirit that beams brighter than most of ours, and makes ours brighter just by being with him. Porter baby, thanks for choosing us. We love you! Happy Birthday!

This is so sweet I want to cry! Don't tell anyone else, but Porter was always our favorite kid in the ward. Our goal was to be on time for church so we could sit next to him in sacrament meeting!
